Paris

7/15
To start the day, we visited the beautiful San Chapelle. This small chapel from the high gothic period features some of the most exquisite stain glass windows known. The windows were amazing as the light penetrated them making them huge sparking jewels.

After San Chapelle we went to the Pompidou Center. This museum of modern art is a piece of art itself. The architects, Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers, and Gianfranco Franchini, placed the building's insides on the outside.

After stopping for crepes, we walked over to the Louvre. This museum is absolutely enormous!! You could spend a week just going there and not see it all. We of course divided into little groups and hit the highlights we wanted to see. Among these were the Mona Lisa, Winged Victory, The Raft of the Medusa, and Aphrodite.

I was not surprised, but getting a chance to look at the Mona Lisa was no easy chore. You have to be persistent and a little pushy to find your way to the front of the crowd to view the famous painting.
